Our story.
Built from a home group,
a family for everyone.
Cornerstone is a church where every nation has a seat at the table. 35+ nationalities represented, one community, one family.
Why we exist.
Pastors Chris and Loraine Demetriou founded Cornerstone in 1990, and were ordained by Pastor Ray McCauley at Rhema Bible Church in South Africa.
What began as a small home group has grown, more than 36 years on, into a flourishing, multicultural church, home to people from more than 35 nationalities who gather together as one family each Sunday.
Pastor Chris' Greek heritage runs deep through the teaching ministry. He reads the New Testament in its original language and brings that depth into every sermon: the word behind the Word.
The short version,
in plain English.
We hold to the historic Christian faith, the same things Christians have believed everywhere, always, by everyone. We just try to say them in a way your neighbour would actually understand.
Our mission is to equip future generations to reach their potential and succeed in every matter of life. Leading their families, communities and nations as examples by going into the world and preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Four generations.
Our four generational vision is to strengthen the family, to strengthen the church, to strengthen the community.
We care about you.
We love people and specifically we care about you. We want to know how we can help encourage you to excel in life and reach your God given potential.
God at the centre.
We put God at the centre of all we do, purposing that everything leads ultimately to the spreading of His love and the furthering of the Gospel.
A family church.
We are a family church, with many cultures represented and celebrated. We believe that there is something for everyone here at Cornerstone.
